Temples to Coast Tour – The “Wanaka” Tour

An 8 day and 7 night trip through the Temples of Angkor in the North, to the beaches on the South China Sea in the South. This tour is strictly for those who love to ride as we ride around 1600 kilometers in a relatively short space of time.
On your arrival I will meet you at the Phnom Penh airport and deliver you to your hotel of choice

Day One.
Distance to ride is approx. 310kms.
I will pick you up in the escort vehicle and travel to an address 10kms from the center of town on route 6. This way we will avoid the worst of Phnom Penh’s traffic, at least until the last day of the tour! We will travel Route 6 to Siem Reap. Lunch will be in Kompong Thom before we detour off the main highway to the stilted village of Kompong Kleang.
Kompong Kleang is about 50kms south of Siem Reap on the shores of the Tonle Sap Lakes. We will do a boat trip of about 2 hours through the stilted village and out to the great lakes. Please note this boat tour is complimentary and also optional, it will be your call.

We will travel on to Seim Reip where we will check into the Sokharoth Hotel.

Day Two.
I will organize a tuk tuk and guide to take you to visit Angkor Wat and surrounding temples.

Day Three
Approximately 300kms.
Depart Siem Reap and travel to Cambodia’s second city Battambang for lunch and a swim at the Bambu Hotel, we will also have time for a trip on the Norry, known to Westerners as the Bamboo Train. The days of the Norry are numbered as progress will soon see the Bamboo Train confined to history.
After Lunch we will depart Battambang and head to Pursat where we will stay at the K.M. Hotel.  There is not much to see or do in Pursat but it is about halfway between Siem Reap and Kampot and the K.M. is a very nice hotel.

Day Four
Approximately 300kms.
Depart Pursat and travel to Kampot. In Kampot we check into the Mea Culpha Guest House. That night we will do a boat trip up the Kampot River, which is actually an estuary. This trip is optional.

Day Five
Approximately 120kms.
Depart Kampot and travel to Sihanoukville where we will book into the Nataya Holiday Villa.  On the way to Sihanoukville we have the option of a trip to Ream National Park. For those who like their guns big, we can also visit the Shooting Range at the Ream Navy Base.

Day Six.
Today we will have a lazy day in Sihanoukville. A fishing trip, diving trip or trip out to the islands can be organized, just ask.  For those less enthusiastic, simply spend a day on the beach or preferably a day at a beach bar!

Day Seven
Approximately  200kms.
Today we depart Sihanoukville and ride one of the great rides in South East Asia. We will ride up (and down) Bokor Mountain. On top of the mountain are an assortment of old and new projects. The most well known are the old and new casinos amongst other ruins in what was once an expensive play area for the French colonists back before the wars. After we descend the mountain we will travel to Kep for our final night of the tour and book into the Summer Hotel.
For our last night on tour we will visit the famous Crab Market restaurants for a Seafood feast.

Day Eight
Approximately 160kms.
Today we depart Kep and return to Phnom Penh. We will make a slight detour and visit the city of Takeo where we will have lunch at a terrific French restaurant, the almost impossible to find Kampot Bistro. From Takeo we will travel back to Phnom Penh where we will have a complimentary BBQ and beers before you are driven back to your hotel.
