7 Day Temple And Tonle Sap Lakes Tour

Day One
We will depart from Phnom Penh and travel National Route 1 towards Vietnam. We cross the Mekong River at the new bridge, Cambodia’s longest bridge in Neak Loung. From Neak Loung we stop for lunch in Prey Veng. After lunch we travel to Kompong Cham where we check into the LBN Asian Hotel

Day Two
We Depart Kompong Cham and travel through Skun, the town famous for edible spiders, before we reach Kompong Thom where we’ll have lunch. After lunch we travel to Siem Reap where we check into the Sokharoth Hotel. Tonight we will visit Pub Street for a meal and a few drinks.

Day Three
Today is the day we visit the world famous Angkor Wat and neighbouring Temples. The visit to the temples is optional, should you choose to visit the temples, as virtually everybody does, we will organize Tuk Tuks or Taxis and a specialist English speaking guide.

Day Four
Today we have 2 seperate tours to do, both are optional. In the morning we will ride out to the Land Mine Museum.  After lunch back in Siem Reap we will travel the 50 odd kms to the stilted village of Kompong Kleang on the Tonle Sap Lakes for a two hour boat trip. It is your choice as to whether you do both short tours, just the one, or do neither and perhaps return to the temples, or stay at the hotel by the pool.

Day Five
We Depart from Siem Reap and continue along Route 6 through the province and city of Banteay Meanchey. This is at the most Northern point of the Tonle Sap Lakes and about 40 kms from Thailand. We do a “U Turn” around the top of the lake and travel to Battambang, Cambodia’s second largest city. In Battambang we check into the Bambu Hotel.

Day Six
In the morning we will take a trip on the Norry, better known as the Bamboo Train.. With the continued development of Cambodia the Norry appears to be on its final legs. We will have lunch in Battambang before we head off and travel to Pursat for the last night of the Tour.

Day Seven
On our final day we will depart Pursat mid-morning and stop for lunch in Kompong
Chanang. On our final leg we will cross the Prek Kdam bridge over the Tonle Sap River at Oudong, the ancient capital of Cambodia. We will finish the tour about 10 kms before the city centre to avoid Phnom Penh’s traffic.
